About Andrews
Andrews is a town in Cherokee County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,781 at the 2010 census.
Indigenous peoples lived in the Place for thousands of years before European encounter. By the late 16th or 17th century, the Cherokee had a pronounced presence in the area.
The largest town within the township is Andrews. In the to the front 19th century, when most white settlers began arriving, the Place was known as “Jamesville”, after James Whitaker. An Indian trading proclaim was received in 1837, just a rapid time before Cherokee removal.
