New Hampshire’s rate of “violent crime”- a broad category that includes burglary, aggravated assault, rape, and murder – is 198.7 per 100,000 people. But there is a caveat: the rate of reported rape in New Hampshire is 49.4 per 100,000 people. New Hampshire, a U.S. state in New England, is defined by its quaint towns and large expanses of wilderness. In the north, White Mountain National Forest is known for winter sports areas and Mt. Washington, the region’s highest peak, with a cog railway to its summit. Also in the White Mountains are moose, black bears and part of the Appalachian Trail.

ADT Security In New Hampshire Crime Rates

The Granite State has a relatively low crime rate, compared to other states. In fact, crime in New Hampshire is among the lowest in the country. During the past 10 years, the number of arrests for juveniles has also declined. According to the FBI, robbery, vehicle theft, and burglary occurred at the highest rates. Compared to other states, the homicide and violent crime rates in New Hampshire are among the lowest.

One factor that contributes to the low crime rate in New Hampshire is urbanization. About 81 percent of the population lives in an urban area. Another factor is the unemployment rate, which is lower than the national average. A third factor is the low poverty rate. At 7.3 percent, the state’s poverty rate is lower than that of the country as a whole.

The violent crime rate in New Hampshire is 146 incidents per 100,000 people. This is a slight decrease from the previous year. Despite the decline, the overall rate is still well below the national average. However, the homicide rate is higher than the national rate of 0.9 per 100,000.

Although crime rates in New Hampshire are relatively low, there are some areas that may be more dangerous than others. Some of the most dangerous areas are in red. These include major airports, which are generally high-crime locations. There are also some cities that are comparatively dangerous, such as Manchester.

Crime rates in New Hampshire vary between the southern parts of the state and the northern parts. The south has more crimes per year, and the northern part has fewer. Several factors contribute to the variation in crime. For instance, there are more retail establishments in the southern part of the state.

Property crime is a concern for many in New Hampshire. More than half of residents surveyed said that they are concerned for their daily safety. Of these residents, 53% cited gun violence as the main safety concern. That figure was 3% lower than the national average of 50%.

The majority of property crimes in New Hampshire were larceny and burglary. Robbery and arson were the second and fourth most common types of property crimes, respectively. Larceny occurred at the largest rate, with 14.8 crimes per 1,000 residents.

Among New Hampshire residents who have had personal experiences with a crime in the last 12 months, the greatest percentage were concerned about firearms and personal safety. Most residents reported that their feelings about safety in the state had improved.

Despite the decline in crime in New Hampshire over the past several years, some researchers are not sure if the state’s culture of reporting crimes is accurate. Specifically, they are not certain if sexual assault is a widespread problem. They are also not certain if the state’s reported rape rate is overly high.

Overall, New Hampshire’s crime rate has been steadily declining since 1991. As of 2019, the state had one of the lowest rates of crime in the country. The homicide and violent crime rates in New England are both significantly lower than the national average.
